About Me
Hi, and welcome to my site!
News
I was interviewed for a web publication in July, 2009. You can read it here.
About
I am a 50-something guy who loves to take pictures. I’ve been doing it all my life, with some exceptions due to circumstances, etc. I love good photography and its power to enlighten and inform. I’ve lived all over the world, and currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana.
I started serious photography at the age of 16, working on my high school newspaper and yearbook in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1970. I’ve added some helpful pages here and there, so feel free to read them and join in the fun. I endeavor to say something on each photo’s page, either something technical about the photo or its creation, or an anecdote relating to it.
If you like what you see here, please visit my Flickr sets, where I put up almost everything that’s in focus- and some that’s not! :)
I’ve never really tried to articulate a coherent philosophy regarding photography; at this point I’d say my personal mantra is “Get close and go wide”. Get up close to your subject and use the widest possible lens. This helps bring an immediacy to the image and has a ‘drawing-in’ effect for the viewer.
I welcome contact from you via either the page to the right, or comments on individual pages.
I hate spam as much as you probably do, and I will never use your email for any purpose other than contacting you in response to a request or a question.
